Our walk-in daycare program has 2-3 playgroups, separated by size and temperament, in which staff moderate social dog play and tire them out with toys and pets. Staff are trained to read dog body language, maintain training standards, and create a safe but fun environment for each dog.

We start daycare once we have a few dogs ready to play arrive. Our play space consists of 5 large yards – two are outdoors, enclosed by wooden 6ft fences and containing playground equipment, shade structures and trees. The other 3 are located in our two barns with playground equipment, cots, and epoxy floors. Both are air-conditioned and have constant water access.

Our boarding clients take a nap 11a-1p, and daycare clients are welcome to bring a lunch or request their dog take a break during this time. We are fortunate to have a quiet neighborhood and dogs often sleep during this time in daycare whether inside or out. Our boarding clients are included in daycare at no additional charge, and are given more frequent breaks during longer stays.

Collars are removed at our facility (for play safety) unless requested otherwise. We use large (3in diameter) rubber balls, water toys and sturdy dog pools when appropriate. For our more mellow clients, our kitchen and kennel space is cozy and good for breaks. Rogue’s Farm is licensed by PACFA and follows its guidelines.

Unlike many kennels, our holiday operating hours do not differ from our normal ones!

REQUIRED PAPERWORK

Download: Play Application | Consent Form

We provide a consent form & play application, which must be returned to attend Rogue’s Farm. In order to participate in group play, pets must be up to date on the following immunization records, which can be provided digitally or in-person:

  • rabies

  • distemper

We recommend, but do not require, the following vaccinations:

  • bordetella (‘Kennel Cough’)

  • canine influenza

We accept intact animals of all ages, and permit their presence in daycare with separated sexes and appropriate behavior. Note that intact animals are more prone to behaviors not compatible with a safe daycare setting, and play may be limited based on the day’s attendance.

TRIAL DAYS

To begin daycare or boarding, we require a trial day in advance. This is a scheduled day of daycare in which ask about your dog’s socialization history and intentions with attending. After you drop off, we slowly introduce your dog to our group and evaluate their behavior and comfort level. We ask for at least 4 hours of attendance on a trial day to allow your dog to adjust and their personality to shine. We’ll connect with you at pickup to review their day and make a decision on whether we’re a fit!

Following this trial day, we invite you to our walk-in daycare at your leisure.

If a boarding dog ends up not having success in daycare, we still invite them to board as a “special treatment” dog, who hang out with staff indoors while we maintain the facility.
